A River of Remembrance
Flows through Eastgate
The installation features more than 4,000 hand-knitted and crocheted poppies lovingly created by talented crafters from across the Highlands - with contributions coming from local residents, schools, and businesses, reaching as far as Skye. Each poppy has been carefully attached to camo netting to create a dramatic cascade from a five-metre-high structure beside Chisholm Hunter.
This community-crafted display is both visually stunning and deeply meaningful - a powerful symbol of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude for those who have served. It stands as a tribute to the creativity and generosity of the Highland community and a reminder of the importance of supporting our armed forces and veterans.
The installation also serves as a focal point for fundraising during the Scottish Poppy Appeal, which provides vital, life-changing assistance for veterans, serving personnel, and their families.
Visit us between now to experience this moving display and take a moment to reflect. Together, we remember.
