Shopmobility Highland is a registered charity (charity no. As well as being located close to Shopmobility, disabled parking bays can be found near all of our lifts within Falcon Gallery and Eastgate car park.

The Lachie Smith Room — Changing Places Facility
Located adjacent to Shopmobility in the main lift lobby of Falcon Gallery Car Park (Level 2), Eastgate’s Lachie Smith Room is fully recognised by Changing Places — the national initiative campaigning to ensure that public spaces provide properly equipped toilets for people with complex access needs.
This facility includes:
- A peninsular toilet designed for carers and users to have space on both sides.
- An adjustable adult-sized changing bench.
- A hoist for safe and dignified transfers.
It is the only facility of its kind in Inverness, ensuring that visitors who require more support than standard accessible toilets are accommodated.
Access & Hours:
- The Lachie Smith Room is open during Eastgate’s regular shopping hours.
- Key access and/or assistance available via Shopmobility Highland.
Stoma Friendly
Eastgate has stoma-friendly toilets.
In line with guidelines by Colostomy UK, FIREM has upgraded its facilities to ensure accessible toilets at the shopping centres are equipped for those with colostomy bags. This includes providing hooks, shelf space, a mirror and a disposable bin in every accessible cubicle across the centres.
Visiting shopping centres can be a source of anxiety for those with a stoma as toilets may not be adequately designed for them to be able to safely change their stoma bags. In some cases, people have had to change their bags on the floor of public toilets, highlighting the issues surrounding ill-equipped public facilities.
Stoma friendly toilets at Eastgate are located at Falcon Gallery inside both male and female Baby Changing Rooms.
