Summer Holidays 2025

We’re partnering with The Reading Agency to bring you this year’s Summer Reading Challenge to our shop!

Just pop in and one of our booksellers will be happy to provide you with your own log book to track your reading and our summer bingo challenge, along with some other details of activities you can get involved with, including a poetry and art competition with chances to win PRIZES!

Kids Recommendation Drop-In Session

Struggling to think of what to read next? We’ll help you and your children find the perfect book to read next with our fantastic booksellers on hand EVERY FRIDAY at 2 pm – 3 pm during the school holidays to recommend your newest adventure! This may be beneficial for those participating in our Summer Reading Challenge!

Children’s Storytime

Tuesday 8th July 11:00 – Thursday 14th August

Every Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11 am throughout the school holidays, we are hosting children’s storytime sessions! Everyone is welcome to come along!

Game of the Month Demo Session

Saturday 5th July 14:00

Come along and demo our new explosive Game of the Month, the Exploding Kittens Board Game! Play with your friends, family or our booksellers and try out the game before you buy!

LEGO Building Session

Wednesday 9th July 14:00 – Wednesday 13th August 15:00

Come along and build some cool Lego stuff with your friends and family! Every Wednesday at 2pm – 3pm during the school holidays!

Calling all football fans and dog lovers! Author Jon Attenborough will be in store talking about his inspiring memoir, Following Sam. This is the heartwarming story of Jon and his loyal companion and guide dog Sam, who toured all 42 Scottish Professional Football League grounds (including Inverness Caledonian Thistle!) by only public transport! What began as a personal challenge soon turned into a historic adventure, with Sam becoming the first dog ever to witness live matches at all 42 SPFL stadiums. Come along and meet the author of this remarkable memoir!
